How does virtual therapy work?
I provide secure, online therapy services via the Jane App. This platform is designed to be fully compliant with Canadian healthcare privacy laws, including the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
The platform employs robust security measures to protect your information, including:
End-to-End Encryption: All data transferred between your device and the platform is encrypted using high-level security standards, similar to those used by banking institutions.
Secure Video Consultations: Virtual appointments are conducted through encrypted video connections, and the content of these sessions is never recorded or stored.
Strict Data Control: Jane App stores information securely on my behalf and does not access or use client data for its own purposes.
Privacy Protections: I use a secure system with strict digital locks to ensure only I can access your private information, and every action taken within your file is tracked by the software for your protection.
How do I pay for my sessions?
I use Jane Payments, a secure and integrated payment system, to handle all billing. Payment details are managed directly through your client profile in the Jane App.
What happens during the initial assessment?
The initial assessment is our time to get to know one another. We will discuss what brings you to therapy, your history, and your personal goals so we can develop a treatment plan that feels right for you.
How often will we meet?
While weekly or biweekly sessions are often recommended at the beginning to build momentum and establish a strong therapeutic relationship, we will work together to determine a frequency that best meets your needs and schedule.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please provide at least 24 hours notice for cancellations to avoid being charged the full session fee.
What if I’m in a crisis?
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency or are in immediate danger of hurting yourself or others, please do not use this portal. Call 911 immediately or go to your nearest emergency room.
